IM HAVING A CATHARSIS.......

I have had several catharsis over the course of my last relationship. He was so selfish and cocky that he never understood what I was trying to tell him or what i had to say. So I made countless poems and songs about him, and that really helped me vent. One poem was called "If he only knew", and it just talked about how much it really did hurt me to see him treat me like that, and I finally got to say F**k you in the poem...but was never able to say it in reality. I know its weak. :(

Emotions(my photographic eye)

Human Behavior....

It is the human behavior to have fear. Everybody has experienced fear at some point in their life whether it pertains to the unknown, or love, or even roller coasters it is human behavior to have the feeling of fear.

Human Struggle....

Something that represents the human struggle is both of these pictures. Racism. It is still alive and well today, and has ot gone anywhere. It doesn't matter what race you are black, white, jewish, german, egyptian, every race in the world has had some type of racism geared towards them. Nobody is exempt, so I think that both of these pictures represent the struggle.

Music is a culture because.....

Music is a culture because it is generational and its the quality in a person or society that arises from a concern for what is regarded as excellent in arts, letters, manners, scholarly pursuits. This definition is perfect for all the artist that live in music. There is pop culture, R&B culture, every genre of music is a culture. This is so because its derived from something that it once was and has expanded. All thee artist in this field love what they do and its an expression for them.

Artist in Society...

An artist in front of her creation, the school wall, in celebration of the Bahrain National Day on Dec 16. She is a member of the Hussaini Art Society.

Public Art

Public Art is great. I think it gives the public a chance to see what you can really do as an artist. And it makes people take the time and stop and reflect on your works. This piece is located in Mexico. Its on a little island that was rebuilt after Hurricane Wilma had destroyed the whole island.

My favortie Artist> Maya Angelou

My favortie artist is Maya Angelou. She writes beautiful poems, and speaks from the heart. She has some of the best poems to date. She writes poems that inspire women to be the best that they can be, and love poems that are on a whole different level. Some of her poems may seem shallow when you first read them, but the meaning of the poem is way deeper than what it seems like. My favorite poem but her is Still I Rise...its an empowering song about how she is still rising despite all her adversities. I can respect her for that. Its almost like she is speaking to me directly in her poems. ILOVEHER<3

Still I Rise

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

My left brain, My right brain....

I honestly don't think I lean more to one side than the other. This is so because I am a very logical thinker and I'm a good artist. I can't really choose between the 2 because i have the traits of both sides. I love fine arts, I did all of them all throughout high school, I couldn't get enough music and drama. But on the other hand I'm also very analytical. I analyze everything. I don't veer of track often and I like to think things through completely before i do them I don't act off my emotions often. I am creative and go off my intuition sometimes...so I don't know which one I am. I took a test, and it said the same thing. It said that I wasn't either it was divided down the middle. So i guess that's what I am going to go with. :)

This video is a true work of art......

I believe that this video is a true work of art because it shows people all over the world and Micheal Jackson is trying to get a point across that it really doesn't matter what color you are, we are all the same. He has so many different cultures in the video. It is art because he feels passionate about something and he is expressing through his music. If the world was like Micheal then the world would be a better place to live in. Because racism is still present here and it's still alive. So he is trying to get us to see the bigger picture, and that's what art does. It raises awareness, and gets us to look at things in a different light.

Art on Youtube 1...

www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TXDSlhSo-U
I found this particular video on art on youtube and I thought it was very interesting. It is about an artist that creates art in sand. She spreads sand everywhere and then proceeds to make a picture in the sand. I think this is really unique, and very creative. All her pictures are pretty interesting, I would have never thought to do anything like this. Her pictures almost come to life, she likes to draw animals and human characters. The artist name is Llana Yahav, and the piece is called Sand Fantasy.

On the Graffiti Beat......

I absolutely think that graffiti is a form of art. Its a freedom of expression. The picture you see here was found in an abandon building. If i saw this anywhere, in a museum or on a wall on the street, i would think it was art. The artist was saying that it looked like someone had died there, and who knows he or she may know something that we do not about the location. But i totally think that graffiti is a form of art, no matter where it is located.

I love this piece of architecture...........

I love this piece of architecture because it is super unique. Kudos to the designer. It alomst looks like a ship that is sinking into the clearest water ever, i want to go there just to see this. Whoever came up with his design is a true artist. Their vision for such architecture is amazing. I would have never come up with a design like this. Its a hotel in the water. That's just amazing in itself. The colors of the building reflect nicely off the water and almost gives it a certain glow.

Art and film

These two topics go hand in hand, every movie has some type of art form in it whether it is a love story or a flick about war. The characters in it are always passionate about something, a person or cause, they are fighting for something, that is what the plot is.

I know what art is...........

Art is an expression that can be expressed through dance, photography, sports, canvases, walls, anything. Almost every little thing is art. A lot of people have different opinions of what art is...people that are closed minded only think that art comes in the typical form' which is canvases and drawings, but that's not the only thing art is. Its a free expression of what you think ans how you feel about something. Its a passion.

Subliminal Messages

Young people...please watch out for these subliminal messages that companies are sending out. In the picture you see here...its saying if you eat McDonald's then your going to fall in love and have the love of your life writing sweet nothings on your leg. UGH...no not realistic. If you eat to much McDonald's then the exact opposite is going to happen, your probably going to be 300+ pounds and then no one is going to want you...I'm just calling it like i see it folks. So stay away from those pretty golden arches.

Your word is all you have.....

One thing in this world that you need to have is your word. If you say that you are going to do something then you should definitely bust your ass to do it. Your word is the only thing you have...once you go back on your word countless times then people stop trusting you and your word is meaningless to them because they don't know if you are telling the truth or if your lying. So please value your word, because its the only thing you have.

White Jesus vs. Black Jesus

Race is still a huge issue with today's society. Why is it that a white person thinks that Jesus was white? And a black person thinks that Jesus was black? I mean come on does it really matter what color he was? We as a nation are losing focus as to what Jesus Christ is to us. It really doesn't matter if he was white, black,Indian,Chinese; what matter is that he died on the cross for our sins and he loves us unconditionally. The blood that he shed for us was red, just like any human race on this planet, so lets stop with the whole race card of what color Jesus Christ was, its getting a little sad.

Why do we love love? When love seems to hate us....

What is love? Nobody really knows for sure because no one can give me a solid answer as to what it is. If you ask 10 people what they think love is you will get 10 different answers....but the one thing they all have in common..is that love doesn't hurt. And that's a full blown lie. Love does hurt...and if it didn't then why do so many people have broken hearts over a loved one? How many people have you hurt that you loved? Your parents? Friends? Anybody. So love does hurt and if anybody tells you differently then they are ignorant to whats really going on. And why do people constantly search for something that's going to hurt them? Who knows...why is it that almost every single person walking this earth mission in life, to find somebody to love them unconditionally? Its like people are searching to get hurt. But I guess that's just humans for you. As for me, I've never been in love, but that doesn't mean that i haven't been hurt. So i guess this whole thing is just a double edge sword. FML.

Human Nature

This picture represents the human nature because all humans are nosy whether they think that they are or know that they are. Everybody always wants to know whats going on with somebody else. The statement mind your own business means nothing to humans because we always want to know whats going on and not be left out of anything, even when it has nothing to do with us. Its human nature to want to know, so they can fit in and not be left outside the loop.

Human Condition

I believe that this picture represents the human condition because everybody cries, if its out in the open or in the securities of their own private spaces. Every human has felt the emotion of sorrow. In this picture you can almost feel this mans pain and that's something that all humans can identify with, no one is exempt its something that we all have in common.

Why I believe this film is a work of art.....

I believe the movie Ray, is a true work of art. He expresses he true passion for the love of music. Its his escape from all the negative things goint on around him, from him losing his younger brother, his mother and his sight. He remarkable overcomes adversity, by his love for music. Even though he lived a life of drugs and other things that were extremely hazardous to his health he still rises in the music industry. He is a true artist, his songs leak his feelings. Ray Charles is a true artist.

Art as Fashion

Fashion is an example of art. Like in the image above, it has angles and the colors tell a story. And fashion is a passion for some people so thats their version of art. In this picture it kinda gives off an eerie feeling like she's a vampire, or something. But nevertheless, fashion is a form of art.

Human struggle in art form...

This mural, named: "the runner" is part of a series of paintings situated in the heart of the Bogside. Serving as a statement against war and to homage people in their struggle for human rights.

Dance

Dance is a major form of art. Its an expression of feeling through the body. Movements and your arm positions tell your story for you. Its a form of being free and doing what you feel, its not technical, its an expression. You can tell by the way someone is dancing, what they are representing. If its a ballerina, she is graceful and is telling a peaceful story through her slow movements. If its a hip hop dancer then its telling a story of struggle, any form of dance is art.

Should art or any other fine art be eliminated in schools?

In my own opinion, I think that art should not be aliminated out of school. It gives children an outlet. Its freedom of expression, and allows students to let loose and do whatever thier hearts leads them. School is so strit now-a-days, and its very technical, art is free-flowing and if you take any fine art away you will be losing the kids opinion and the freedom to be themselves.

Diorama

My diorama was about the flaws in governament healthcare. I gave specific statistics on issues deaing with healthcare. Such as 45.7 million americans do not have heatlh insurance meaning that if they ever got hurt or needed any kind of medical assistant they would have to come out of pocket and pay the total. Not only do 45.7 million people not have health insurance but just in St. Louis alone 64 people died because of a lack of health insurance that they could not afford. Not only in the government making health care inpossible for some people to afford but they and definitely benifiting off of the Americans that dont have the propewr insurance. A lot of Americans can not afford the taxes on their health care providers so they drop the insurance all together. Just to add to the statistics 500 peolpe died in 2006 to a lack of health insurance that they could not afford.
